The National Vocations Office of the Legionaries of Christ supports the discernment of young men considering a call to Legionary life across the North America Territory (including Korea and the Philippines). The Operations Manager plays a key role in ensuring the Vocations Office functions efficiently and remains aligned with organizational goals. This position oversees daily business operations, supports vocation promoters, manages data and reporting, and collaborates across departments to strengthen administrative, marketing, safe environment, and development efforts.
The Operations Manager reports directly to the National Vocations Director (NVD) and must be highly organized, detail oriented, collaborative, and committed to the mission of the Catholic priesthood. The ideal candidate thrives in a remote environment, communicates effectively with lay staff and Legionary priests, and brings professionalism, initiative, and strong follow through to a dynamic team.
Responsibilities
Administration
• Manage tracking of vocation prospects, including maintaining and designing Salesforce CRM structures, generating reports, ensuring data accuracy.
• Maintain annual statistics and produce internal and external reporting.
• Assist in implementing the territorial vocations plan.
• Support budgeting, monthly reconciliation, forecasting, and management of vocation office bank accounts.
• Serve as liaison to Territorial Administrative Accounting, Gift Processing, CRM staff, and outside vendors.
• Assess business operations, recommend improvements, and refine office procedures, especially in development and fundraising.
• Coordinate travel arrangements for candidate visits and provide administrative support to field vocation promoters.
• Respond to inquiries via email, social media, and website, including vetting potential candidates and communicating with families.
Safe Environment
• Collaborate with Director of Safe Environment and Risk Manager to ensure full compliance with safe environment policies.
• Communicate policy updates and support alignment across the vocation team.
Marketing & Promotions
• Build strong working relationships with vocation staff and lay collaborators.
• Work with Communications and Marketing department to implement the vocations communications strategy.
• Manage social media content for LC Vocations (Instagram, Facebook).
• Support planning for vocation fairs and conferences; coordinate and distribute promotional materials.
• Conduct research on vocation demographics and assist with key partnership development.
Development
• Support fundraising activities for the Vocations Office in partnership with the National Development team and field vocation promoters.
• Assist in setting and implementing annual fundraising goals.
• Collaborate on marketing materials for vocation promotion and support donor gatherings.
• Coordinate with Gift Processing to ensure accurate donor records in Salesforce.
• Participate in the annual Vocation Directors gathering.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business, management, operations, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of operations related experience.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and process management skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and multitasking abilities.
• Knowledge of budgeting, accounting, and HR practices.
• Proficiency in Office 365, virtual meeting platforms, bookkeeping, and financial reporting; Salesforce experience preferred.
• Must support the mission of the Legionaries of Christ and Regnum Christi.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $55,000–$70,000, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include remote work, generous paid time off, retirement plan with employer match, medical/dental/vision options, employer paid insurance benefits, parental leave, and additional voluntary coverage options.
