EWTN Venerable Margaret Sinclair (1900-1925), born in Edinburgh, entered the Poor Clares Colettines in London in 1923. As Sister Mary Francis of the Five Wounds, she made her profession in early 1925; she died of tuberculosis of the throat that November. Re-airs 5am Thursday and 4pm Saturday.

PBS The Battle of the Chosin Reservoir began in frigid North Korea on Nov. 27, 1950, when the Chinese Communist Army entered the Korean War. It ended on Dec. 13 after a strategic withdrawal by the U.S. Marines and Army inflicted mass casualties on the enemy and saved many civilians.

EWTN On Tuesday at 8am, the Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word celebrate All Saints’ Day Mass in Our Lady of the Angels Chapel in Irondale (re-airs 6:30pm). At noon will be the Solemn Mass of All Saints at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (re-airs midnight). On Wednesday at 8am, the Franciscan Missionaries celebrate All Souls’ Day Mass in Irondale (re-airs 6:30pm and midnight).

TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES Directed by Michael Curtiz, this 1951 fact-based drama stars Burt Lancaster as the great Catholic athlete Jim Thorpe (1887-1953) of the Sac and Fox Nation. He won the pentathlon and decathlon at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics and played Major League Baseball and football, but battled alcoholism and prejudice.
