Journey to Mount Carmel
EWTN In this series based on his 2022 book, A Journey to Mount Carmel, Father Jeffrey Kirby guides viewers toward ever-greater love for Jesus and Mary through the scapular and the Rosary.
Adapted excerpt about this series from “EWTN Wings”: Take a Deep Dive Into the Brown Scapular and Why You Need to Wear It Now!
By Michelle Laque Johnson
“I have the immense pleasure of walking with you through this five-day preparation as we prepare to be invested or devotionally re-invested in the Brown Scapular of Our Lady,” says Father Jeffrey Kirby, a moral theologian, author, papal missionary of mercy and pastor, who hosts the program. “I want us to use this miniseries as an opportunity to take the hand of Our Lady and let her walk us into a deeper relationship with her Divine Son … who has come to save us, to walk with us, to be a friend to each of us.”
Episode 1 focuses on baptism and the consequences of sin and explains that every baptism is an adoption: We are adopted into the family of Christ.
Father Kirby explains: “Dear friends, that’s the baptismal way of life. In the holy drowning of baptism, we die to ourselves so that we can live for Jesus Christ.”
In Episode 2, viewers are reminded of the immense wickedness of the evil one and the importance of reaffirming that Jesus Christ is Lord of our lives. Father Kirby explains that “every time we buy the lie that the devil is selling us, we allow our dignity, the image of God, our Father, within us, to be degraded. So, it’s not just that we are tearing ourselves down, but we’re taking all that is good and holy, noble and beautiful in the very image of God, and we’re tearing that down with us, too.”
Episode 3 focuses on the fatherhood of God, Episode 4 focuses on the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and Episode 5 focuses on the Holy Spirit in our hearts and in the Church.
Don’t miss this series. It’s a game changer!
