EWTN The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops will meet in Baltimore and hear reports on subjects such as the 2013-2016 New Evangelization plan, the defense of marriage, the protection of religious liberty and needed emphasis on the life and dignity of the human person. Monday’s sessions are at 10am and 2pm, and Tuesday’s are at 9am and 2pm.

The Fighting Sullivans
TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES This 1944 film, starring Thomas Mitchell and Anne Baxter, tells the true story of the Sullivan family of Waterloo, Iowa. Their five sons perished together on a sinking cruiser on Nov. 13, 1942. Pope Pius XII sent the young men’s parents, Thomas and Alleta, a letter of condolence and a silver medal and Rosary. The bereaved Mrs. Sullivan said, “Christ had five wounds, too.”

Dogs of War
A&E In each episode of this new “docuseries,” a rehabilitated and specially trained shelter dog helps a combat veteran who has post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). EWTN At St. Bernard Abbey in Cullman, Ala., German-born Benedictine Brother Joseph Zoettl (1878-1961) worked for decades to construct the hillside Ave Maria Grotto, where he built beautiful and accurate replicas of churches from around the globe.
