‘Mini Pope’

Facts of Life

Daniele De Sanctis, 19 months, wore a white cassock and cape, white skullcap and a miniature pectoral cross to the papal general audience on Feb. 26. He cried when Pope Francis gave him a kiss, but was happy to run around closed-off sections of St. Peter’s Square.

His mother, Paola Ciabattini, said one of his grandmothers made the outfit.

Ciabattini told The Associated Press, "It was a gesture of love toward the Holy Father."
