HISTORY The mostly African American 15th New York National Guard Regiment, federalized as the 369th Infantry Regiment of the New York Army National Guard, fought in the American Expeditionary Forces in World War I. Despite spending nearly 200 days on the front lines, fighting with gallantry and having 1,500 casualties, they came home to continued prejudice.
