Hello? Goodbye!

Save a family. Shut off a cell phone. The 24/7 availability that cell phones and pagers have brought to people’s lives may be taking a toll on family life, a new study suggests. Following more than 1,300 adults over two years, researchers found that those who consistently used a mobile phone or pager throughout the study period were more likely to report negative “spillover” between work and home life. This, in turn, led to less satisfaction with family life. The study was published in the December issue of the Journal of Marriage and Family.
