If you’re more than a little concerned about the indecent content kids are exposed to via the media, you’re not alone. A survey released in June found that two-thirds of American parents feel the same way. The study, conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation, also revealed that there would be broad support for new federal limits on immoral and violent material on television. Two of three parents said they closely monitor their children’s TV, Internet and video-game usage. And just one in five admitted they should be more vigilant. That was about the same ratio that said their own children see a lot of inappropriate material. Nearly all respondents agreed that parents, teachers and friends have more influence over children than the media.
