Pope Benedict XVI has announced the Church will celebrate the Year dedicated to priests, beginning June 19.
“Priests deserve this,” says Cardinal Claudio Hummes, prefect of the Congregation for Clergy. “They needed this recognition from the Church and from society. Their dignity and importance needed to be recognized.”
