Gingrich’s JPII Documentary

Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich and his wife Callista are working on a documentary about Pope John Paul II’s historic pilgrimage to his native Poland in June 1979.

The project is called “Nine Days That Changed the World,” and more information about it is available at the project’s website.

Says the website:

George Weigel, author of Witness to Hope, the Biography of Pope John Paul II, describes these nine days as the pivot upon which the entire 20th Century turned. It is an extraordinary claim, yet well supported by what transpired in the years after Pope John Paul II’s triumphal return to Poland in June of 1979.

In a new documentary, Nine Days that Changed the World, Newt and Callista Gingrich, in partnership with Citizens United and Peace River Company, explore this claim.

Gingrich converted to Catholicism earlier this year. Register subscribers can go here to access Tim Drake’s recent Register interview with the new Catholic.

COMMENTARY: When readers drill down into women’s complaints about the pill, they don’t seem so illegitimate, and they certainly don’t fit the definition of ‘misinformation.’
