Vatican Releases Itinerary for Pope Francis’ US Visit

The trip will begin Sept. 19 in Cuba and conclude in Philadelphia on Sept. 27, with stops in Washington and New York in between.

VATICAN CITY — The Vatican on Tuesday released the comprehensive itinerary for Pope Francis’ journey to the United States and Cuba, including his schedule for Philadelphia for Sept. 26-27.

Here is the Holy Father’s complete schedule for his September visit to Cuba and the United States, courtesy of the Holy See Press Office and the USCCB (all times are local):

 

Saturday, Sept. 19 (flight to Cuba)

10:15am — departure from Rome (Leonardo Da Vinci Airport)

4pm — arrival and welcoming ceremony in Havana, Cuba (José Marti Airport)

 

Sunday, Sept. 20 (Havana, Cuba)

9am — Mass and Angelus (Plaza de la Revolución)

4pm — visit with Raúl Castro (Palacio de la Revolución)

5:15pm — vespers with priests, religious and seminarians (Havana Cathedral)

6:30pm — greeting of youth of the Centro Cultural Padre Félix Varela in Havana

 

Monday, Sept. 21 (Holguín and Santiago, Cuba)

8am — departure from Havana (José Marti Airport)

9:20am — arrival in Holguín (Frank Pais Airport)

10:30am — Mass (Plaza de la Revolución, Holguín)

3:45pm — blessing of the city from the Loma de la Cruz (Hill of the Cross) in Holguín

4:40pm — departure from Holguín (Frank Pais Airport)

5:30pm — arrival in Santiago, Cuba (Antonio Maceo Airport)

7pm — meeting with bishops (San Basilio Magno Seminary)

11am — meeting with families at Santiago's cathedral, followed by the blessing of the city outside of the cathedral

12:15pm — departure ceremony (Antonio Maceo Airport)

12:30pm — departure from Santiago for Washington

4pm — arrival at Joint Base Andrews in Washington

9:15am — meeting with President Barack Obama, with welcoming ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House
