Meet Audrey

When one is a publisher, one reads books put out by his own publishing house with a special care.

I wasn’t sure what to think of a book about a child saint. Flannery O’Connor famously refused a group of nuns who wanted her to write one, saying that such books become overly sentimental.

But what I’ve written elsewhere about Audrey is true: This book is magical.

You start to read it, and the book disappears. You find yourself not reading about a little girl, but meeting her, getting to know her, liking her, becoming her friend, admiring her, and starting to think like her and even do things like her just because, as she would say, “It’s more elegant.”

San Antonio boasts a nearly exact replica of France’s Lourdes Grotto. A shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe is also present on the grounds of the Missionary Association of Mary Immaculate.
