Is It the Ark of the Covenant?
Worldnetdaily.com reports here that Patriarch Abuna Pauolos of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia plans tomorrow to reveal to the world what he says is the true Ark of the Covenant.
The Orthodox patriarch told the Adnkronos news agency the Ark has been hidden away in his country for “many centuries.”
Said Patriarch Pauolos, “As a patriarch I have seen it with my own eyes and only few highly qualified persons could do the same, until now.”
The claim that the Ark has been in the possession of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church is not new, as the Wikipedia entry about the Ark notes. It will be interesting to see if Patriarch Pauolos offers any new, concrete evidence that the Ethiopian Ark is indeed authentic.
