Catholic Schools Week wrapped up Jan. 31.

Across the country, students gathered to celebrate the value of a Catholic education.

As Pope Leo wrote in his apostolic letter on education, “The Catholic school is an environment in which faith, culture and life intertwine. It is not simply an institution, but rather a living environment in which the Christian vision permeates every discipline and every interaction.”

And festive fun was on display too:

100th-day celebrations with Atlanta Auxiliary Bishop Bernard Shlesinger III:

There was a patriotic celebration at St. Thomas More in Decatur, Georgia:

Plus, there was this heartwarming segment about the school’s recent 100-day celebration:

Parents took part in the festivities in Charlotte, North Carolina, before the winter storm this past weekend:

And some students shined while articulating why they love their own Catholic school so much, including this student in Galloway, New Jersey:

At Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, students looked ahead to future careers:

May we continue to keep this school and parish community in prayer, after their heartbreaking tragedy and beautiful story of hope and recovery.

Outreach is a hallmark of Catholic education in Omaha, Nebraska:

In Miami, college-football champ Fernando Mendoza’s alma mater went out into the community.

Eucharistic blessings at schools were also part of the special week: Christ was carried to classrooms.
