This year’s gathering is the 10th National Eucharistic Congress in the U.S. but the first since the beginning of World War II.
Held every five years, the NBCC is organized by a team of ecclesial and lay leaders, including Washington Auxiliary Bishop Roy E. Campbell Jr. The event brings in crowds of several thousand, including priests, bishops, religious, and lay faithful, representing African American communities from across the country.

The number of registrations FOCUS has received for this year’s Jan. 1–5 conference is a new record, said Curtis Martin, one of the organization’s co-founders.
Set to open Wednesday, July 17, and run though Sunday, July 21, the National Eucharistic Congress will feature a mile-long Eucharistic procession through Indianapolis and several opportunities for Eucharistic adoration.
As part of the revival, a National Eucharistic Congress will be held July 17–21, 2024, and is expected to draw 80,000 Catholics to Lucas Oil Stadium, home to the Indianapolis Colts.
