The New President

The inauguration helped remind the world how great America is: Freedom reigns, when a nation transfers power with such joy and peace.

But the adulation in many quarters of the media for the new president was disturbing, and not just because we disagree with Obama’s policies on the right to life. Americans (as, to his credit, Obama himself pointed out) owe their allegiance to the virtues that created the nation, not to any particular ruler.

A local television station is reporting that the Archdiocese of Hartford is investigating a possible Eucharistic miracle that may have taken place during the celebration of Mass at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Thomaston, where Blessed Father Michael McGivney once served as pastor.
