On Holy Thursday, nearly 150 people (mostly Christians) were killed and another 70 injured on the campus of a university in Kenya, Garissa University College, by a group of Islamic terrorists with links to the Somalia-based Al-Shabaab, a group linked to Al Qaeda.

The masked terrorists separated Christian students from Muslims, and then mercilessly killed them. One student later said he heard the terrorists storm the dormitory, force open doors, and ask if the people inside were Muslims or Christians.

"If you were a Christian, you were shot on the spot," reportedly said the student. "With each blast of the gun, I thought I was going to die."

Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab, al-Shabaab’s military operations spokesman, told Reuters, "We sorted people out and released the Muslims."

He continued: "There are many dead bodies of Christians inside the building."

Robert Godec, the U.S. ambassador to Kenya, said the United States extends its "deepest condolences" and said the attack "reinforces the need for all countries and communities to unite in the effort to combat violent extremism."

When I consider these people facing down gunmen and admitting their love for Jesus Christ I feel both shaken and inspired. I pray that I could be as brave and strong in my faith. These Christians acts of bravery should serve as an example to all of us during this Holy Week and far into the future. And the horror and violence being displayed by the Muslim terrorists should serve as an alarm to the rest of the world.

My heart and prayers go out to the people of Kenya. I pray that the world awakens to this continuing horror and takes action.
