“Reel Faith” is back in production (last week’s season premiere is currently archived at the show’s website if you haven’t seen it yet), but David and I are still doing 30-second reviews, right in the theater, which may take getting used to.
Last week we did two apiece: I did Kung Fu Panda 2 and Priest, while David did X-Men: First Class and Bridesmaids. I had a lot of fun with the rhymes for Kung Fu Panda 2, and as for Priest, I’ve finally worked in limericks! (Note: See also my full reviews of X-Men: First Class, Kung Fu Panda 2 and Priest.)

David’s X-Men review isn’t up, it’s just “Bridesmaids” twice!
Here’s the direct link for the X-Men review:

Didn’t see an X-Men link and want to know for my teens!! Thanks for great reviews!
Sorry about the X-Men / Bridesmaids glitch, it’s fixed now. Also I’ve added links to my full written reviews for X-Men: First Class, Kung Fu Panda 2 and Priest.
Thanks for fixing the problem - my teen is now calling friends to plan a pizza/movie night!
SDG, in your review of “X-Men: First Class”, you write:
“McAvoy not only commandingly fills the shoes Stewart was never allowed to stand in….”
While this is mostly true, I do recall a scene from “X2” where Stewart, as Xavier, is given the illusion of standing without his wheelchair.
Also, he walks, with no wheelchair in sight, in the flashback scene at the beginning of “The Last Stand”.
Just thought I’d throw in that minor correction. :)
Of course, as a wheelchair user myself, Xavier has become one of my favorite superheroes. :)
@ Edward C: Thanks for making the point ... I did remember as I wrote it that there were one or two exceptions, but I went with the generalization anyway. :)
I am a huge comic book fan and love the original XMen team of Cyclops, Marel Girl, Beast, Angel & Iceman. I was a little weary about XMen-1st Class, for only Beast was to be in this film. However, this movie a surpisingly very well done. For a movie that was near 2 1/2 hours, the story flowed very well. I do like that the movie makers introduced to the mainstream such lesser-known super heroes such as Banshee and Havoc. The actors in this film that portayed Emma Frost, Xavier, Mystique and Magneto were exceptional.
I still hope that they will make an XMen 4—so they can clean up the mess of XMEN 3, leaving us hanging with the deaths of Jean Gray, Cyclops and Xavier…..I really liked Thor and I do look forward to Geen Lantern and Captain America!
