An Abundance of Prayers for Jennifer Fulwiler

Thursday, January 03, 2013 1:04 PM Comments (102)

EDITOR'S NOTE:

Yesterday, Jennifer was admitted to the hospital for pulmonary embolisms in both of her lungs. Because of her pregnancy, they are holding off on surgery, but watching her very closely. Her unborn son is doing well. But please keep an abundance of prayers coming for her healing, the safety of her child and peace for her husband and children. We’ll keep you updated.  And, obviously for now, she won’t be blogging.

In a blog post this morning, Simcha Fischer asked for the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel for Jenn, as the great protector is Jennifer’s patron saint for 2013. Let’s join in that prayer.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend the Fulwilers in battle!

Thank you!

I am so sorry & will definitely remember her & her family in prayer & ask for St. Michael’s protection.I pass by his statue at a nearby monastery every day.
Is there anything her family needs beyond prayers? Thanks!

Praying ardently. St. Michael, defend her and her baby! St. Gianna, physician and mother, pray for her. Amen.

Our secular carmelite community will be keeping Jen and her family in our prayers too.

Praying for you Jen and your baby. May St. Michael guard and protect the Father’s sweet daughter and her child.

My prayers are with Jennifer and her family.

Praying for Jennifer, her baby, and her whole family!

Praying

Hobby Lobby a Christian Business should hire Christian men and women who are anti abortionists!  Only Christian men and women should work at their place of employment.  Christian anti abortionists.

St Gerard, St Gianna, St Anne, St Elizabeth,St Joseph, and Blessed Mother please help Jennifer and her child.

This could be important.

I am assuming that Jen is on the Coumadin protocol. My wife underwent a similar circumstance during her last pregnancy. It is very important, the standard Coumadin protocol _may_not_ work for pregnant women. Most physicians (as of two years ago) are not aware of this.

I would suggest that Jen’s doctor contact <a >Dr. Alexander Duncan</a> at Emory in Atlanta as soon as possible.

Good luck.

Praying!

Praying for Jennifer, her baby, and her entire family. Please keep us updated.

My sister had the same thing while pregnant with her son last year!  Praying for a complete healing!

Praying! Has she reached out to Dr. Kalamerides of Vitae Clinic? He’s my doctor in Austin and is completely faithful to all Catholic doctrine on life.  Excellent , excellent OB.

She’ll be fine. God bless her!

Oh, gosh, I am praying too!  Thank you for letting us all know.

Our prayers are with you, Jenn, and your lovely family.
“Be of good cheer!” (John 16:33)

I’m so sorry to hear this.  She is in my prayers.

My boss and I just prayed for her and her family.  We work at a Crisis Pregnancy Center and pray that she will just be filled with God’s grace!

Praying for you, Jennifer. You are a bright light!

My prayers are with Jennifer, her baby & her family.

Prayers abound. CAF also started a prayer thread for this matter if anyone wishes to join.

With Jennifer and her family in prayer and solidarity.

I will be praying for you Jen as well as your family!

Praying over here!

Unfailing Prayer to St. Anthony

Blessed be God in His Angels and in His Saints.

St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God and charity for his creatures, made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited on your word, which you were ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I ask you to obtain for me the favors that I seek; for a complete healing of any blood clots or other problems for our sister Jennifer and the health of the precious little boy growing in her womb.  The answer to my prayer may require a miracle, even so, you are the Saint of Miracles.

O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was full of sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the Infant Jesus, who loved to be held in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever by yours.  Amen.

will pray and offer masses for you, your baby and family, Jen.
You helped me pick a saint for 2013.

Praying for supernatural healing for Jen!

Praying for healing! St. Michael, pray for us!

Praying for Jennifer and her family in Evening Prayer.

Sweet Jennifer ~ I will be praying for you.  I, too, have had pulmonary blood clots which were treated with blood thinner medications.  However, with your pregnancy, I have no idea if they can treat you with those.  Obviously you are very loved and you can count on my prayers for dissolving those clots and keeping you and your baby safe.

Jen, we love you and pray for your continued heaing, safety for your baby, and abundant strength for your husband and children.

I am praying, Jen. I’ve been reading your blog for so long that I think of you as a good friend. I will also make a sacrifice. Please keep us updated!

I have been praying since last night for her, her family and her medical team. I will continue to do so.

When I heard about this, I thought, “I wonder which saint should I pray to?”  And then I read Jen’s posting about St. Michael.  Praying for peace, protection and healing through St. Michael’s powerful intercession!

May our Lord Jesus heal and protect this wonderful wife, mother and voice of truth and light.

  Prayers from here.

Our family is adding Jennifer to our prayers, as well! What a beautiful soul to join in prayer for.

Praying for Jen and baby here in Wyoming!

Have been praying and will conitnue to do so. I will offer my two hours before the Blessed Sacrament tomorrow morning for Jen’s physical and spiritual well-being.

Oh, I’m in tears.
I will pray.

Oh dear. Praying for Jen’s full & quick recovery; for confidence and absence of tremendous fea, as well as help for the children & household for husband, Joe; for quiet loving peace of Christ for all the Fulwilers & for Joe’s mom, YaYa. We’re with you, Dear Jennifer, in prayer!

Hopefully, you will give some credit to the medical professionals who are helping her. Their hands are being more helpful than any prayers.

Nancy, your sarcasm is uncalled for, especially given this situation.  The NCR readers can’t help Jennifer medically.  What they can do is pray.  No one here is saying that prayer should be a substitute for medical care.  If you don’t think prayer is helpful, then don’t pray.  You could express some empathy instead, or just keep your sarcasm to yourself.

Sorry, but it’s a cruel irony that Jennifer’s pregnancy is endangering her health. God works in mysterious ways. I hope everything works out for her and her child, and I don’t expect that anyone here will loose their faith no matter what happens.
.
Prayers will make you feel better, but be sure to give science its due. There would be no hope for her with Catholic faith alone.

Nancy,
Pregnancy can enhance or endanger our health. It just depends, but it’s neither cruel nor ironic. Just Nature.
Prayers & good manners are what layfolk can offer at this time.

We are praying for Jennifer and her family at Priests for Life.

No one here is failing to give science or the medical profession its due.  The point of this article is to announce Jennifer’s condition to people who care about her, and to ask for their prayers.  What do you expect the NCR to do, write an article about how great the medical profession is?  I’m sure the NCR does think it’s great, but that’s not the point of this article.  And no, we’re not praying to make ourselves feel better.  We’re praying because that is what we can contribute.  Most NCR readers can’t be with Jennifer, can’t treat her medically, can’t talk to her or even email her.  What we can do is follow the updates on her condition and pray for her.  That does not detract from what her doctors are doing for her.  The fact that you are using a forum about a mother and baby whose lives are in danger to promote your anti-Catholic agenda speaks volumes about your character.  It’s bad enough that trolls use any NCR forums for that purpose, but to using this particular forum is a new all-time low.  Even Earl (our resident troll) has not yet stooped that low.

I am having a Mass offered for her.

Praying for Jennifer! May God protect her and keep her safe from harm. May she deliver a healthy baby and all God’s blessings on her and her family.

What do you expect the NCR to do, write an article about how great the medical profession is?
.
If things work out for the best and both Jennifer and baby are alive and well, then yes. In addition to the usual praises and thanks to the Lord, it would be decent of the NCR to write an article acknowledging the medical profession’s role. Too many people are targeting the whole woman’s health program as abortion and contraceptive providers and don’t acknowledge when their services are applied to promoting the life and health of both mother and child—born and unborn.
.
Kathleen, I really do hope that Jennifer and her child survive this ordeal and live a long and healthy life. I know that you will praise and thank God/Jesus/St. Michael if and when it does.
.
But if that doesn’t happen and there is a tragic outcome, will you attribute the tragedy to Jesus, St. Michael, Nature, or the Medical Professionals?
.
My honest opinion is usually considered “bad manners,” but I don’t believe in lying about my opinions just to be polite. I’m certain that Jennifer is getting the straight truth about her situation so that she can make her own decisions about the options available to her.
/
I’m not telling anybody not to pray, if it makes you feel better, I’m just saying that her chances of survival are greatly increased because we have a medical profession that interferes with nature.

Nancy, your opinions have a place but it is not this one. Please, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Being polite and having bad manners does not equate to not having compassion, which seems to be what you are lacking right now. God bless.

Nancy:  for the second time, people are not praying for Jennifer because they want to feel better.  The purpose of this article is to inform people about Jennifer’s condition and ask for their prayers.  It is not about the medical profession.  Jennifer is in a hospital.  Clearly she believes in modern medicine, as does the Catholic Church.  Prayer and medicine are not mutually exclusive.  No one here is telling you to lie about your opinions.  This forum isn’t even about opinions.  It is about notifying readers of a situation that involves a blogger that they care about.  This article is not about politics, and it is not a forum for people like you to sarcastically push their agendas.  Your exploitation of a life-threatening situation to push your own agenda says a lot about your character, or lack thereof.  If Jennifer and her baby have a good outcome, yes we will all thank God that she received life-saving medical care.  If that doesn’t satisfy you, why are you here in the first place?  It certainly isn’t out of concern for Jennifer.  It is for you and your own agenda.  As Brenda said, this is not the time or the place.

Sending hugs, love and prayers to the Fulwilers.

Stopping to pray a rosary.
Will offer tomorrow morning’s Mass.
Mercy, Dear Father.
The world needs Jennifer’s witness in this time.
Amen.

Praying for her—so sorry to hear this.  :(

i choose to pray-for mother, baby,  father, and those professionals assigned to them. may god be with you all and bless your every thought and breath.

God bless you Jen. The Illicete clan is praying from Colorado!!!

Praying 3 Hail Marys for Jennifer and asking others to do so as well.

Nancy,
Just say “no” to your inner creep.  Like Claire said, you and your sock puppets have hit an all new low.  Maybe you can find a little old lady to pick on since you already got to sneer at the faith of a gravely sick, pregnant mother.  If the subject matter wasn’t so grave you would be beyond comical.

Praying for you, Jennifer, for St. Gianna Molla’s intercession.

In Christ,

Father Raftis

I understand that we value open dialogue here but I think this absolutely has to be the last straw in terms of “Nancy” being banned. “Nancy” has gone far beyond any sort of debate or discussion here and may have crossed over into hate speech.  And I use “Nancy” in quotation marks because I am almost certain that this is a fake name used by someone who is already banned, most likely a man (frankyly, I can’t imagine any woman writing this way) and most likely neck-bearded.

Absolutely, Mike.  “Nancy” (or Gloria/Angela/Barbara/etc) is not here for dialogue or debate.  And even if she were, this particular thread is not about a debate, and it’s pathetic that she would manipulate it into that.

What is that STUPID JERK COMMENT ABOUT HOBBY LOBBY?  LET THEM GO UNDER. IT ISN’T YOURRRRR BUSINESS.  IT IS A STUPID RETAIL STORE AND THE GUY IS TAKING ADVantage of not giving women the health care they deserve.

REGARDING JEN: Praying but sounds to me like the doctors IN HER AREA HOPEFULLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
;)  Getting good prenatal care is part of all of this. Having a kid now is more about taking care of the mother and the child.  Does the Register give insurance… Doubt it.
How they get away with that is beyond me.

HERE’S WHAT JENNIFER HAS IN PLAIN ENGLISH.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulmonary_embolism

You want to talk about stupid jerk comments?  Look at the ones from the trolls (yourself included) who are so self-serving that they are compelled to take a thread about a woman whose life is in danger, and make it about their own twisted, warped agenda.

Prayers going out for strength of soul, mind and body. May God Bless the Fulwiler family.

Thinking and praying for Jennifer, her baby, and her family. Bl. Mother Teresa used to pray the emergency novena of 9 Memorares in a row, and I will do the same. Please Lord, grant her complete healing!

Jennifer is surrounded by well wishers and prayers.  This is a little heaven on earth, despite her travail.  What is sad in the case of trolls, is that they relish the suffering of Christians, as if we hadn’t already comprehended the TRUTH about it in this world.  “Physician, cure yourself” they sneer.  In the wounded heart of God, our travail loses it’s sting.  Trolls come to the Register spewing their hatred, and spitting on our love because it is at odds with the Hell that they carry around in their hearts.  Though they are about as welcome as a bad rash on the hind quarters, I guess I kind of prefer that they are here, because they serve to always remind us that Hell truly exists, for the self serving.  Some people prefer it, and the hate that intoxicates them, to the bliss of heaven, self sacrifice, and union with God.  Sadly, they have fallen for a lie, from the father of lies.  They shroud themselves with self righteousness, but end up as henchmen for death, sterility, and self worship.

Very true, Anna Lisa.  If nothing else, they remind us of why we’re Christian.  Without God, we might be the type of people who would delight in the sufferings of another.

(shiver) Good and sobering point.

Hmmm, what’s that word I’ve seen before…  I think it’s Prudence.  Has “Nancy” ever come accross that word?  Will pray for Jennifer and her family.

Darren, perhaps you should post your comment regarding treatment on the ConversionDiary website so it is seen as it sounds like it might be helpful.

Will definitely share in the St. Michael the Archangel prayer.

Prayers from my house, too.

Am praying.

Prayer sent from me.

May the Lord of life grant Jen and her baby health and the abilithy to do His will.

Im sooo sorry to hear that Jennifer is unwell - does anybody have an update? I will pray for her and the baby. (And if I may offer an opinion - lets not “engage the engagers” if you know what I mean - maybe we should take the high road, and pray for them too - life is too short, and things too sad, to do otherwise)

Zaidagal:  I read on her blog that she was expecting to be discharged from the hospital last night, but that a long road to recovery was expected (she is stable, though).  Regarding the engagers:  you’re absolutely right, and I acknowledge I am guilty of acknowledging them.  I have to say that it really took me off guard that they would manipulate this serious situation.  It seemed that common human decency would inspire them to stay away from a thread of this gravity, but I guess my expectations were way too high.

Im really, really glad to hear she is stable and will keep praying for her and her family - thanks for sending the update -

Claire ,
We need to pray for the “trolls”, too, I think.
Glad to hear Jennifer’s stable & headed home.

Intercessory prayers to Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos http://www.seelos.org/prayers.html

Kathleen:  I have been known to pray for them on occasion.  I should probably do it more often.

I will pray for Jen and also have asked for St. Gerard Majella’s intercession (patron of expectant mothers.)  Claire, all I can say to your comments is Amen, sister.

Thanks TG.

She’s in my prayers, that’s for sure.

Jennifer,

We are praying daily for healing and wholeness.

Mark and Anne

Jennifer is in my prayers everyday. Are there any updates? Is she recovering?
May God’s tender healing strength be upon her and her family, in Christ’s name we pray.

Lord of Life, pour out your tender mercies on Jennifer, her unborn child and all of her family, as well as all those expectant mothers and their babies suffering from the same affliction. Praise be to God for His goodness knows no bounds. Amen!

Larry:  my understanding is that her condition is serious but stable.  She wrote an amazing post today on her blog Conversion Diary.

claire…Went there but did not find any update past January 9th…where
did you see?

I subscribe to her blog, so her posts come right to my email inbox.

Praying for Jennifer and her family.  Her conversion story is a great inspiration.

Very sorry to hear about your struggle.  I have the DVD of your Journey Home program which I use in a 9th grade CCD class.  It has been inspirational to most of the kids.  They do pay attention.  Currently I am composing an editorial letter to the local newspaper on abortion and am planning to quote your view on contraception and abortion being the biggest lies told to women.  Since you are unable to reply I will not use your name but be assured your inspiration continues.

You are in my prayers.

God bless you, your husband and your unborn child.

I pray for God’s mercy. God is good and compassionate and He will look back to ask ” What do you want me to do ? ”  Lord, heal Jennifer. Thank you Lord.

We will definitely pray for you!

Glad to know Jennifer will be discharged soon. I will be going for Mass on Thursday for you Jennifer and your baby. May our Lord Bless you and your family so you may carry on his good work through your vocation. We have a special mass at our parish for expectant mothers St. Gerard Majella’s intercession (patron of expectant mothers.)
