
Pope Francis in Kazakhstan on the Feast of the Holy Cross: ‘May the World Learn to Build Peace’

Violence and hatred serve only to create division and more hostility — never to change hearts and minds.
The Holy Father underlined that the Lord calls all Christians to be ‘ambassadors of peace.’
The Holy Father met with members of the Jewish service organization B’nai B’rith International at the Vatican on May 30, saying, ‘Let us go forward together, on the basis of our shared spiritual values, to defend human dignity against all violence and to seek peace.’
It was the first large gathering for the May 13 anniversary since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as since Pope Francis consecrated Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
“War is not the solution, war is madness, war is a monster, war is a cancer that feeds off itself, engulfing everything,” Pope Francis writes.
Among other images, the bells illustrate a DNA chain, the ultrasound of an unborn child and the Ten Commandments tablets.
Returning after recovering frm a gunshot wound, Father Carlassare told the faithful, “You are my strength; you have been my strength and am back here because of you.”
“Earthly peace is the image and fruit of the peace of Christ, the messianic ‘Prince of Peace.’ By the blood of his Cross, ‘in his own person he killed the hostility,’ he reconciled men with God and made his Church the sacrament of the unity of the human race and of its union with God. ‘He is our peace.’” (CCC 2305)
‘All of this is inhuman and sacriligeous, because it goes against the sacredness of human life,’ the Holy Father said.
