Theology of the Church

Publisher's Note

Pope John Paul II’s teachings on the theology of the body have made for vigorous debate in many circles in the Church today. We hope our special two-part symposium, concluding in this edition, helps to shed light on the important topic of human sexuality and the foundational elements necessary to promote a culture of life.

The symposium — from the introduction by Cardinal Justin Rigali to each of the nine essays by well-known scholars — showed that Pope John Paul II’s far-reaching catechesis on human sexuality isn’t the exclusive property of any one person or any singular school of thought.

It belongs to the Church. And, in our own small way, the Register is happy to contribute to that effort to deepen our knowledge of the contents of the faith, ongoing now for more than 2,000 years. We look forward to hearing your feedback.
