St. Paul, Model for Priests

In this video posted by the Vatican at its YouTube site, Pope Benedict XVI links two Church events — the closing yesterday of the Year of St. Paul and the current Year for Priests that began June 19.

In his ministry, the Pope said, St. Paul “represents a magnificent model to be imitated ... in love for Christ, in zeal for announcing the Gospel, in dedication to communities, in elaborating effective summaries of pastoral theology. St. Paul was an example of a priest completely identified with his ministry.”

The Earth is Not Our Mother

“The main point of Christianity was this: that Nature is not our mother: Nature is our sister. We can be proud of her beauty, since we have the same father; but she has no authority over us; we have to admire, but not to imitate.”—G.K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
