Parishes Prepare for 2nd Eucharistic Adoration for the Synod
Parishes around the world are taking part in a worldwide Eucharistic Adoration Novena for the upcoming Synod on the Family.
The novena, held on the first Thursday of every month until the synod in October, will take place tomorrow, March 5th. It will be the second of nine. The faithful are being warmly invited to take part and are encouraged to ask their parish priest or local religious houses to organize a day of adoration.
Organizers stress it’s not a problem if you missed the first one and it can be taken up tomorrow. The aim is pray that the synod takes place according to the Lord’s will and remains faithful to the Church’s Magisterium.
The novena, whose patron is St. Therese of Lisieux, will be held on the following dates:
• March 5 (Second Thursday of Lent)
• April 2 (Holy Thursday)*
• May 7 (Fifth Thursday of Easter)
• June 4 (Corpus Christi)
• July 2 (13th Thursday in Ordinary Time)
• Aug. 6 (Transfiguration)
• Sept. 3 (St. Gregory the Great)
• Oct. 1 (St. Thérèse of Lisieux)
* As this date falls on Holy Thursday, the faithful are asked simply to follow the normal rites of the Church for that day, which includes Eucharistic adoration after the Mass of the Lord’s Supper.
