Some good things going on this good Friday in the Church:
5 Blank Journals - Josh over at Catholic Tech Tips has a really cool idea. He wants to send out 5 blank journals to the global Catholic community. Check the link for what happens next. I can’t wait to see the project completed. He also could use a few small donations to help get the project started.
Catecraziness - This very inspired soul decided they are going to tweet the entire Catholic Catechism. Each paragraph of the CCC is twitterized into 140 chars and tweetily-tweeted just for you. Let’s follow them and cheer them on.
Best Priestly Practices - This is a site that shares best practices for priests. Priests can submit their own and learn from others. I like.
The New Advent Report - Have you seen New Advent’s front page lately? It is updated daily with new links to Catholic news/articles around the web. Good stuff!
Effective Web Navigation - If your parish website has more than 5-6 options in their primary menu navigation on their website, do them a huge favor and send them this link.
Calling all gaming geeks - If you never read the Bible because you’re too busy playing video games, your mother’s prayers have just been answered. I just found a MMORPG based on the Bible. In case you’re wondering what MMORPG stands for, it stands for “massively multiplayer online role playing game.” And this one teaches you about the book of Genesis.
Catholic Priest takes on Stephen Hawking - Recently Stephen Hawking made some very surprising statements about the existence of God, like how we don’t need God because we have gravity (doh, I never thought of that!). Well, a very intelligent Catholic Priest/scientist is going to be on Larry King Live tonight carefully correcting where Hawking seems to have gone so desperately wrong. I’ll be tuning in.
Keep the Dream Alive - the latest video from CatholicVote.org. The quality of their work always exhibits the kind of excellence we should expect from Catholic media. Their message is on the money, too. “We’re too great a nation to limit ourselves to small dreams.” We have too great a God to waste our time with them either. Here’s the video:
Enjoy this good Friday!
