A documentary drama about the beloved 20th-century friar debuts on EWTN on Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. ET. The film includes never-before-seen photos and letters that provide an intimate view of the saint’s life.
Various historical testimonies document the phenomenon experienced by St. Pio.

The saint was born on May 25, 1887, in Pietrelcina, Italy.
Lamonarca, who founded the St. Pio Foundation in 2014, said he has seen devotion grow to St. Pio in the United States in the decade since he founded the organization.
‘I give all glory to God. I know that Christ is with me, and Pio is with me,’ says actor.
Cardinal O’Malley, 78, has been a member of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin since 1965. Padre Pio, one of the 20th century’s most beloved saints, was also a Capuchin friar.
The film is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy, which spans from Aug. 31 to Sept. 10.
Multiple elements from his body will be visiting the nation’s largest Catholic church this weekend.
