The Green Mountain State will no longer consider if foster-parent applicants’ sincerely held religious beliefs embrace the state’s views about gender identity and sexuality when determining whether to grant a license.
Alliance Defending Freedom said Dec. 17 that the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families ‘will no longer exclude Christian and other religious families from foster care’ because of their ‘commonly held beliefs that boys are boys and girls are girls.’
The order aims to ‘increase partnerships between agencies and faith-based organizations and houses of worship to serve families.’
