Teddy’s podcasting ambitions were sparked almost wholly by the example of Father Schmitz, the popular Minnesota priest who, in his podcast, reads through the entire Bible in 365 daily episodes, plus a prayer and reflection.
Speaking to the Register during a press conference, Father Schmitz invited Catholics and non-Catholics alike: ‘Discover how God’s plan of sheer goodness is made manifest for us today.’
For the 365 days of 2023, Father Schmitz will read through the entire Catechism of the Catholic Church.
The podcast's latest No. 1 ranking coincided with Father Schmitz’s appearance on an enormous billboard overlooking New York City’s Times Square in December and January.
Over the past year, ‘The Bible in a Year’ hit 142 million downloads and 3.3 billion minutes of listening worldwide. Soon, Spanish language listeners can listen, too.
Ascension Press unveils big plans for the popular podcast, which has been a huge hit since its rollout in 2021.
