Such a papal trip would involve substantial risks, but along with advancing the cause of peace, it would show solidarity with suffering Ukrainians and potentially improve relations with Ukraine’s Orthodox and Jewish communities.
The Mass in Philadelphia was one of dozens that took place across the United States, as bishops answered the Pope’s call to pray the consecration prayer together.
Archbishop Gudziak received the Notre Dame Award in June 2019, and the following November was a keynote speaker at Notre Dame‘s de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture’s 20th annual fall conference.
