Position: Youth and Young adult Minister

Location: Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church, 600 Beebe Rd., Central Point, Oregon 97502

Qualifications:

Practicing Catholic who attends weekly mass and is in good standing with the Catholic Church. Has extensive knowledge of the Catholic faith and doctrines. Self-starter with drive and initiative to create dynamic opportunities in and outside of the church to evangelize youth and young adults. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Spanish bilingual capability strongly recommended. Ability to teach youth and young adults in an engaging and relevant way. 

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required. College degree and/or prior experience in youth ministry or related fields is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities: Host weekly middle, high school youth and young adult group sessions, fostering a welcoming and engaging environment for guiding students and young adults through their journey of faith and/or preparation for sacraments. 

Plan and organize youth and young adult retreats, missions, and social outings to teach youth and adults about the Catholic faith and service through interactive and relevant lessons.

Lead confirmation classes and preparation through completion of program, to include record keeping, maintaining Archdiocesan Child safe environment requirements within the youth programs as well as youth volunteer mandates and requirements.
