Finally, a court that stands up for a right that isn't the right to rip babies apart with other people's money. The Fifth Circuit court essentially told the abortion giant Planned Parenthood to shut their whining gobs and that Texas has a right to not fund them.
This victory is being called a "roadmap" for any state that wants to defund Planned Parenthood. A lot of states have tried. Texas did it. This is a very bad day for Planned Parenthood. And a bad day for Planned Parenthood is a good day for babies.
Texas stood up to the bully who nobody thought could be beat. This is like when Rocky Balboa made Dolph Lundgren bleed for the first time and everyone was all like "Oh my gosh the seemingly indomitable Swedish looking Russian dude isn't indomitable or Russian!!!
This is like when the New York Giants essentially showed every other team in the NFL five years ago how to beat the dreaded and seemingly indomitable New England Patriots - stop being so afraid and put Tom Brady on his keister. And since then, how many Super Bowls have the Patriots won? Nada. That's how our friends south of the border say bupkis. Before that, they seemed indomitable. Now nobody's afraid.
So this is like that, except Tom Brady doesn't kill babies for money. (That we know of.)
This victory for Texas will have huge ramifications. Huge. I assure you Planned Parenthood has the mop out and they're changing their pants.
Remember, when Texas first tried to defund Planned Parenthood the Obama administration threatened the state with cutting off all Medicaid funding for the state because anyone who didn't love abortion as much as Barack "punished with a baby" Obama, wasn't getting a dime from the federal government. Yup. Obama was going to cut off Medicaid funding for poor Texans if Governor Rick Perry didn't agree to give some taxpayer money to Planned Parenthood.
That was a showdown. And there's something you don't want to do with Texans, and that's get into a showdown. But Obama had $30 million reasons for Texas to back down. And that's a lot of reasons. But Texas, led by Perry, told the feds to keep their filthy money and they'd establish a state program. Bam!
And then came the lawsuits. I think Planned Parenthood is the oppositte of every other human in the world - they love lawyers and hate babies. Kinda' weird but true. But Perry fought on. And now he won.
Governor Perry may not be the best debater in the world but he got it done.
Many other states like Indiana have attempted to defund Planned Parenthood only to get bludgeoned with judges pinning them down, putting them in headlocks, giving them wet willies and making them say, "Obama's the awesomest President ever and I'll keep giving other people's money to all your abortion friends."
But Texas got it done. Go big or go home. Texas went big and told Obama to go home. It's time for all the other red states to put on their big boy pants.

“...unalienable right to Life.”
Don’t mess with babies in Texas!
I’m not a fan of Gov. Perry but I am very pleased that he took a hard stance against Washington. More states need to follow our lead. We’ve proven it can be done. The states need to stand up and assert and take back the rights reserved to them by the Constitution. I’m proud to be a Catholic, native Texan.
Perry might not have been right for prime time, but he’s right for Texas! May God bless his socks off!!!
I don’t know how many times I have wanted to “share” an article, but didn’t because of wording like, “shut their whining gob.”. I want to show that Catholics are above being coarse.
It would help if we watched how we express ourselves and used dignity.

I’m happy for the victory but Mary Anne K is right. I was going to share this on Facebook, but the language is too coarse and sends a message I don’t want to send along with the good news.
Actually, the Fifth Circuit, I believe, only denied a temporary injunction to Planned Parenthood while the case goes to trial. Also, just today a Texas state judge issued a temporary restraining order on Texas because the defunding law appears to violate Texas regulatory law. See http://reproductivepolitics.blogspot.com/2012/10/planned-parenthood-ban-in-texas-stopped.html
To Mary Anne and Gina: Maybe you could just suppress the offensive words and put (...) (or, which is better, square brackets if you can do them with your keyboard) instead, or even insert a different word between square brackets…
Unfortunately, this is far from over. The tyrant in the White House has probably already turned loose the dogs from the Justice Department to begin the next round of harassment of Texas.
Honestly, I WANT that state to say “Enough! We are leaving the union and you people in DC can go straight to HELL!!!” I will move there and take up arms to defend them and their state!
Marthe, I would have to re-write most of the article. I don’t want to start an big deal here, I just like to put things a little less in-your-face on my FB.
Mary Anne— The descriptive language in this article is perfect when you are dealing with demon possessed maniacs who think they have a right to run the unborn through a Cuisinart.
What has been said in this article is MILD compared to my thoughts about Planned Parenthood and President Obama.
GOD BLESS TEXAS AND GOD BLESS RICK PERRY.
I LOVE YOU AL IN TEXAS.
THERE IS A GOD
“REMEMBER THE ALAMO!” Thank God for Texas! Thank God for Rick Perry!
To quote a great country song… “God bless Texas!”
to Mary Anne K maybe we should try to think what the slaughtered babies would say could they say it.
Perry deserves a Nobel prize for standing up to Obama’s threats.
This is wonderful news.
I agree with Mark…language like “whining gobs” is pretty mild when you think about what Planned Parenthood wants to do to unborn babies.I thought Matt used pretty mild language and wasn’t vulgar. For heaven’s sake, if we can’t be passionate and use mild, non vulgar language to speak the truth, we’d all sound like Dick and Jane textbooks.
“Look, Jane. Look, look. There is the government trying to kill babies.”
This is Great News!!! Thank God!!! Thank you!, Thank you!, Thank you! Rick Perry. God Bless Texas and God Bless Rick Perry!!!
The language is fine for venting. I think it could use some tweaking to change minds. We need to sound less hateful than the other side. I get what you are saying.

Thank you for such a fantastic web site. On what other blog could anyone get this kind of information written in such an insightful way? I have a presentation that I am just now working on, and I have been looking for such info.
I pray they stay strong and don’t go back the way Komen did. Planned Parenthood is a bully and they trully should be named Blood Money Bullies. GO TEXAS!
Didn’t the 7th circuit just forbid Indiana from doing the same thing Texas did? Yep. Circuit split=this issue is headed for SCOTUS land.
I don’t get the comment about Indiana, implying that the state succumbed. The 7th circuit decided the law differently than the 5th circuit, that’s all. That’s no insult to Indiana and no compliment to Texas. BOTH Texas AND Indiana deserve credit for what they tried to do.
IF SCOTUS agrees with the 5th circuit instead of the 7th, then Texas is going to have to give in just like Indiana had to give in.
That means it will be up to the President of the US if he wants to force states to spend money on abortion through PP. Something to think about when you cast your presidential vote.
Woops, that should have read:
IF SCOTUS agrees with the 7th circuit instead of the 5th [not vice-versa]...
Hey Matt, can you provide the link for the source for the information that your article is based on? Thanks!
I have two blog posts about this with links to news reports about the Texas state case, a copy of the Fifth Circuit decision, and a copy of the 7th Circuit decision: 1) http://reproductivepolitics.blogspot.com/2012/10/planned-parenthood-ban-in-texas-stopped.html (Texas cases); 2) http://reproductivepolitics.blogspot.com/2012/10/de-funding-of-planned-parenthood-blocked.html (7th Circuit case). I hope this helps.
I think that is about the best thing I have heard today…and the way you told it - spectacular! Thank you and God bless.
‘Gob’ is a British/Irish term for mouth. What is so coarse about “shut their whining mouth”?
or big girl pants! :)
I think this was a well-written- guy to guy article- it was loaded with football and Rocky references so you know the target audience- not everyone’s cup of tea but I think many guys will get the point- I think one of the biggest letdowns in the abortion debate is how there is so much pandering to women - as if women are too delicate to speak plainly to- President Obortion et al talk as if “women” are all-knowing, all-virtuous- well they are not, and men are no better as a general rule- so let’s deal with what action of men and women we are objecting to. Men who beat their children in the confines of their own homes are not to be praised for making their choice- to beat or not to beat. We need to reach out to women without pandering and pretending they are so different from men they cannot be held accountable for a serious moral error- an error that men are guilty of as well- wanting to be rid of the consequences of unwanted pregnancies.
Why are Texans so “don’t mess with Texas” and the rest of us so freaking passive when it comes to “Planned Death” (Why do we even call them “Planned PARENTHOOD”?)
@Tim S “President Obortion” heh.
