Ohio pro-life advocates look to Michigan’s recent push for taxpayer-funded abortion as the Buckeye State faces an amendment that would enshrine a right to an abortion in the state Constitution.
The judge cited testimony from abortion providers that abortion does not increase risk of negative psychological outcomes.
Supporters of the referendum call it a matter of protecting regulations, like parental notification for minors and a 24-hour waiting period for an abortion, both of which may be threatened by a 2019 ruling of the state’s Supreme Court.
