They testified that Planned Parenthood and other abortion clinics throughout the country are selling the organs and body parts of aborted babies in a lucrative biomaterial black market.
On Tuesday’s ballot, 20 Republicans voted for someone other than Jordan; on Wednesday, 22 Republicans defected from Jordan.
“We have been consistent in our position and reiterate that it would be a calamity if the important and life-affirming provisions in this bill were accompanied by provisions facilitating and funding the destruction of unborn human life,” the bishops’ letter stated.
Bishop Dorsonville emphasized a Christian’s duty to care for the vulnerable and pointed to the Church’s teaching on human dignity and work.
