On that day, 2,752 people were killed in New York City. Another 184 were killed in the attack at the Pentagon, outside Washington, D.C., and 40 died outside Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Once upon a time, everyone recognized the importance of marking a shared history as a nation and a people. That consensus is progressively eroding.
After the attack on our country I left Islam and held religion in disdain. But against the odds, I would come to learn that God became flesh and dwells among us.
