Sasse stressed the importance of religious freedom as one of the five “basic pre-governmental rights” enshrined in the First Amendment to the Constitution.
In remarks released Sunday, the judge said that she was “forever grateful” for the path blazed by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and that it would be the “honor of a lifetime” to serve on the Supreme Court.
