For more than two weeks, the Lebanese Christian villages along the border with the Holy Land have experienced a state of anxiety accompanied by massive population displacement.
The prayer service was led by the Anglican bishop of Jerusalem, Hosam Naum, and the final blessing was given by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Pope Francis at the end of his general audience on Wednesday morning announced another worldwide day of prayer and fasting for an end to the Israel-Hamas war, on Oct. 27.

The United States moved its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem in 2017.
‘For a Middle East without Christians would not be the Middle East,’ said Francis, who also prayed in front of the relics of St. Nicholas over the weekend.
