A Nov. 11 letter from Cardinal Marc Ouellet says that proposals that had been scheduled for a vote by the bishops’ conference needed more time and discussion to “properly mature.”
COMMENTARY: His resignation Oct. 12 was due more than anything else to the fact that his priests didn’t believe he was telling the truth about Archbishop Theodore McCarrick.
COMMENTARY: Whatever report the Secretariat of State will produce is now the key to whether the archbishop’s questions are resolved, or become even more contested.
