Archbishop Gabriele Caccia urged the protection of the most vulnerable, especially children, the elderly, people with disabilities, and victims of war.
‘It is fundamental that, even in the midst of conflict, the protection of the human person and its inherent God-given dignity remain at the center of all collective efforts, also in order to avoid the scourge of war,’ said Archbishop Caccia.
His appointment begins in March and likely will last for four years.
