COMMENTARY: As our current government leaders move to pass the so-called Equality Act, a necessary lesson on what religious freedom in the United States really means and how we must combat the current war being waged upon it.
If passed by the next Congress, the Democrat-backed Equality Act would limit religious-beliefs defenses in sexual-orientation and gender-identity lawsuits and might force doctors and hospitals to provide abortions.
The U.S. bishops’ conference has warned that the Equality Act could “punish” religious groups which do not recognize same-sex “marriage” and transgender ideologies.
Psaki added that Biden “has been a supporter of the Equality Act, and he also is a practicing Catholic and attends church nearly every week.”
Opponents of the bill argued on Thursday that it would be especially harmful to women, forcing them to accommodate biological men identifying as transgender women in locker rooms and sports.
The Biden administration continues to advance the transgender cause through legislation and appointees.

Either we are going to fight for our religious liberty and freedom of speech — and ultimately, freedom of thought — or they will be taken from us.
COMMENTARY: The new Equality Act of 2019 bill in Congress is anything but an act of equality.
Legislation would add anti-discrimination protections for sexual orientation and gender identity, but the USCCB expressed concern about threats to freedom and safety.
