A state law in Ohio that effectively defunds Planned Parenthood is legal, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Tuesday.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit vacated Thursday a previous injunction barring Texas from stripping affiliates of Medicaid funding.
By deciding not to hear the case, the court has not cast a judgment on the questions contained in the appeals.
The law, which was signed by Gov. John Kasich in 2016, prohibited federal taxpayer money from going to businesses that perform abortions.
The legislation, which was met with criticism by the U.S. bishops and legislators, passed March 22 by a vote of 256-167.
‘Taxpayer dollars must not directly or indirectly subsidize abortion providers like Planned Parenthood,’ said Gov. Henry McMaster.
The 2-1 panel ruling comes two years after the state ended its contract with the organization over videos filmed by undercover investigators.
