The Justice Department sued the University of Vermont Medical Center after a nurse there was allegedly coerced into helping with an abortion in 2017, against her stated conscientious objection to doing so.
COMMENTARY: If there is an area of the public square in which freedom of conscience should be robustly granted and reluctantly curtailed, health care is it.
A bill now before Parliament aims to safeguard conscientious objection for medical professionals.
