In recent weeks, Peru, which lies on Chile’s northern border, has strengthened border control there by deploying military forces, resulting in nearly a hundred migrants being stranded in northern Chile.
The violent episode follows other fires that occurred, the first involving two forestry vehicles in the town of Traiguén and the second in the chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in the hamlet of California.
Despite the sadness and pain, faithful Catholics are trying not to be shaken, and many say the laity must aid Catholic revitalization.
