COMMENTARY: In his first encyclical, the Holy Father has concluded that the widespread understanding of the human person in a technological culture has become so eroded that some philosophical repair work is needed first.
Pope Leo XIV, in a message to participants of an international bioethics conference, issued a call for scientists to ‘contribute to the search for truth, so that science may remain at the service of humanity, never becoming its master.’
COMMENTARY: The secular vision of humanity is defective because it sees only fragments and not the whole.
