Archbishop Vigneron said even if a person hasn’t figured out what he or she wants to do for Lent, it’s not too late to reflect and hear what God is calling them to take on during this holy season.
Along with praying for the holy souls, a second goal of the confraternity is to help Catholics understand the teachings on purgatory and indulgences.
Archbishop Vignernon calls on Michigan Catholics to spend the first two weeks of Advent doing penance following the passage of a constitutional amendment to allow abortion on demand.
It is imperative that Catholics and all people of goodwill do everything they can to defeat the proposal while there’s still time, Archbishop Vigneron said.
‘Our struggle is against principalities and powers; it’s only with the help of God through the intercession of Our Lady and St. Michael that we will be able to defend the gospel of life.’
The working group, formed in November, met twice and produced two recommendations by the end of the year 2020.
