‘God forgives you. Can you forgive others?’
Archbishops Aquila and Naumann, and Bishops Cozzens and McManus, share their thoughts on the Eucharistic Revival as well as the controversy of Catholic elected officials who advocate for legal abortion.
Archbishop Samuel Aquila of Denver released a statement Friday in support of San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone’s decision to deny Communion to Nancy Pelosi because of her persistence in supporting abortion.
Since February 2020 in the Archdiocese of Denver alone, at least 25 parishes or ministry locations are known to have been the target of vandalism, property destruction, or theft.
“All of us understand that you have to be pastoral in dealing with these situations and that it is really important to have a dialogue with the person, for us as bishops,” Archbishop Aquila said.
The statement would explain Christ’s Real Presence in the Eucharist, the importance of Sunday as a holy day, and the need for Catholics to live out the Church’s teaching in their lives after receiving Communion.
Archbishop Cordileone said Archbishop Aquila’s letter “reminds me of the forthright way St. Paul spoke to the Corinthians, Galatians, Thessalonians and others.”
