The Synod on Synodality is the fifth synod of Pope Francis’ pontificate. It marks the first time he has chosen to forgo writing a post-synodal apostolic exhortation in favor of adopting the text drafted by the synod participants.
The post-synodal apostolic exhortation Querida Amazonia sets forth the Holy Father’s ‘Four Dreams’ for the region, but steers clear of endorsing married priests or women deacons.
COMMENTARY: Pope Francis’ more than 250-page text on the family deals beautifully and decisively on threats to marriage and hesitantly and ambivalently on putting Church teaching into practice.

NEWS ANALYSIS: The much-anticipated papal document will be unveiled on Friday in Rome.
In new EWTN Germany interview, Archbishop Stanisław Gadecki discusses meeting’s strengths and weaknesses, dismisses talk of a German-Polish “war”, and recalls that the greatest expression of the Church’s mercy is the Sacrament of Penance.
