Facts of Life

Americans United for Life recently released its 2014 "Life List."

Louisiana ranked as the most pro-life state; it has topped the list for five years.

This year’s list has Oklahoma, Arkansas, Arizona and Pennsylvania in the top five. The least pro-life state is Washington, followed by California, Vermont, New York and Connecticut.

The most improved states, because they have new pro-life legislation, include Texas, Illinois, North Carolina and Kansas.

Four German Bishops Resist Push to Install Permanent ‘Synodal Council’

Given the Vatican’s repeated interventions against the German process, the bishops said they would instead look to the Synod of Bishops in Rome. Meanwhile, on Monday, German diocesan bishops approved the statutes for a synodal committee; and there are reports that the synodal committee will meet again in June.
