Why Do Catholics ...?

What saintly advice is good to keep in mind in today’s world, which has so many trials and causes for concern, in light of current attacks on the dignity of the unborn and the sanctity of marriage, etc.?

One of the Register’s patron saints is St. Francis de Sales, who is the patron of journalists. He reminds us: "Do everything calmly and peacefully. Do as much as you can as well as you can. Strive to see God in all things without exception and consent to his will joyously. Do everything for God, uniting yourself to him in word and deed. Walk very simply with the cross of the Lord and be at peace with yourself."

In addition, we must keep in mind where we get our strength. As Pope Benedict XVI tweeted on Jan. 27 @Pontifex: "What does Sunday, the day of the Lord, mean for us? It is a day for rest and for family, but first of all a day for him."

Have you always wondered about some aspect of the faith? Or maybe you’d like to know some trivia about Pope Benedict. If you do, email us your question at editor@ewtn.com and look for the answer in an upcoming issue.
