This sentiment was championed by St. John Paul II, who died 10 years ago on April 2, 2005, the eve of Divine Mercy. John Paul always spoke of the sacredness of life.

“Faced with the sacredness of life and of the human person, and before the marvels of the universe,” John Paul II said, “wonder is the only appropriate attitude.”
