A recent study by the Association of Executive Search Consultants found that close to 50% of fathers with executive-level jobs are more likely to ask for less travel during their job negotiations than they were five years ago. And a survey by CareerBuilder.com found that one of every four fathers is dissatisfied with his job because it demands more than normal working hours, keeping him from spending time with his family. “Work-and-family issues were exclusively women’s issues,” commented Armin Brott, leader of a workshop outfit called Fathers at Work. “Now, guys are feeling more comfortable. They want to be home and with their kids.” Brott added: “Fathers used to be considered good fathers if they worked hard. Things have definitely changed.”
