Women feel more rushed than men even when they have more free time from their jobs, household work and childrearing, sociologists say. In a recent study, some 39% of women said they always feel rushed. “The meaning of free time for men’s and women’s lives is quite different,” said Liana Sayer of Ohio State University, commenting on the data. “To ease time pressure, women need more free time that is not combined with other activities or responsibilities.”
